The 2013 GSX1300R Hayabusa

Since Suzuki introduced a motorcycle in 1999 that would come to define the hypersport category. The name is GSX1300R Hayabusa. Hayabusa is Japanese for the peregrine falcon, a bird that can hit over 200 mph while vertical diving for prey. Suzuki does a clever marketing title, considering one of the peregrine falcon’s prey was the Blackbird, which was the name giving to Honda’s CBR1100XX.

For 2013, Suzuki has slightly refined its Hayabusa, the GSX-R1300R arriving with ABS and Brembo Monobloc calipers. This will be the first bike in Suzuki’s sportbike lineup to feature ABS. The engine arrive with the 1340cc, DOHC, liquid-cooled inline four with Suzuki’s Dual Throttle Valve (SDTV) fuel injection system, the engine tuned for a broad powerband.

The 2013 Suzuki Hayabusa features a lightweight twin-spar aluminun-alloy frame and 43mm inverted front forks that feature a Diamond-Like Carbon (DLC) coating surface treatment on the tubes to reduce friction and increase reaction to small irregularities on the road. Out back, the Hayabusa features a link-type coil spring. Beside that the Hayabusa features Suzuki’s Drive Mode Selector (S-DMS), which allows riders to select one of three engine maps based on performance, and a six-speed transmission with Suzuki Clutch Assist System (SCAS) back-torque-limiting clutch to deliver smooth and controlled downshifts.

To stopping the “beast“ engine the Hayabusa make Brembo Technology. This is top-of-the-line radial-mount Brembo Monobloc front brake calipers deliver better feedback to the rider. Piston diameter were enlarged from 32-30mm to 32-32mm. Larger pistons help apply greater force to the brake disc, which results in increased initial bite and a more controlled feeling. As for the discs, they are 320mm.

And for the last, The 2013 Hayabusa arrive with new feature, its new standard equipment Antilock Brake System (ABS) unit features a lightweight, compact design. The ABS enhances brake performance by helping prevent, to a certain extent, wheel locking due to changes in road conditions or excessive braking, by matching stopping power to available traction. The ABS is a supplemental device for brake operation, not a device for shortening stopping distance. Always remember to reduce speed sufficiently before approaching curves.

2011 Yamaha Raider S Review

You look at a new generation of custom cruisers. A race that stands out. Ensure attention to detail. From front to back, the 2011 Yamaha Raider S stands for "custom" inspired parts. Extended fork, fat rear tire, low seat and an aggressive, slammed the driving position. For 2011 Raider is not only looks good ... it gives a fantastic driving experience too.

Chopper inspired. Wired.

Some want to build their own, some people prefer to ride. In both cases we have covered. 113 cubic inch fuel injected V-twin engine that powers to issue No V-twin when it comes to robustness and reliability. And the rest of the star of the chopper inspired Raider S 2011 Yamaha is clean, designed and built the worlds best bike builders. And a "little more chrome added weight.

When Yamaha decided to produce a true custom machine, the easiest part of the style and attention to detail.

The trick was to match the design inspired by "chopper" and a platform that would allow excellent maneuverability. The engineers at Yamaha were not willing to compromise. Raider S was to produce a great handling and excellent ride comfort. Discover the exceptional quality, design and performance complete Raider S.

Features Model 2011 Yamaha Raider S (VX1900S)

18kpl/51mpg fuel * (Imp)

Injected 1854cc V-twin

Hand, the incredible attention to detail

MOTOR

High-performance, 1854cc (113 cubic inch) air-cooled, long-stroke, OHV, 4 valves per cylinder, 48 ° V-twin delivers torque with a massive acceleration of the dominant class of very low rpm.

Maximum torque is 2500 rpm, but the maximum power of 4500 rpm, providing exciting beats and feel great acceleration torque.

Traditional pushrod engine construction engine valve to maintain the height of the engines lower center of gravity and ensures more uniform heat dissipation, the budget, because if the chain of distribution. Low center of gravity to provide a lightweight, easy to handle.

Four valves per cylinder breathing efficiency for optimal power delivery to all large systems. Two spark plugs per cylinder, half as fast, burning as efficiently as possible.

The heads of design uses a combustion chamber roof and an oil passage repressed by the seat of the exhaust valve for improved cooling and durability. Leaders also point engine mount on each side of the head for increased chassis rigidity for exceptional handling.

Valves large increases engine power and torque. The intake valves are 36 mm in diameter, and the exhaust valves are 31 mm.

Specially designed valve train includes short design intake and exhaust rocker arms that reduce inertia during high rpm operation.

Specification of high performance dual mounted in the casing, high-lift cams ensure strong torque and acceleration ruling class.

Mechanical centrifugal decompression mechanism located in the exhaust of each camshaft, always starts fast and easy.

Driven hydraulic valve lifters Twin Cam offers excellent performance and significantly reduce the need for maintenance and development.

The crankshaft is a single pin design, provided that V-twin and feel the pulse. Optimized wheel and the "shock-less" crankshaft allows the driver to feel the immediacy of the engine power.

Each rear of cycle 5, the crank spins 3.14 times providing an excellent driving force rear wheel feel for the pilot.

Balancers reduce vibration for exceptional driver and dual passenger comfort. The balancers are positioned at both ends of the crankshaft to reduce vibration and minimize the size of the housing. The balances are designed to reduce vibrations while allowing the classic V-twin pulse.

Apartment aspect of 3-axis means the crankshaft, main shaft and drive shaft are specially arranged to minimize the size of the engine casing and centralize mass.

Dry-sump lubrication system has been optimized to ensure maximum lubrication and cooling. The special nozzle directly at the bottom of the pistons to cool and lubricate. Dry sump system, a more compact model of motor oil from the tank is not part of the engine, which lowers the center of gravity for easy handling and a light sensor.

Special "Double room" design of the housing. On the front of the crankshaft, while the second is a transfer. Two, three-rotor high oil pumps optimizes oil flow capacity in the two main engines.

Huge 100mm bore ceramic composite-plated cylinders provide uniform heat dissipation, reduce weight, reduce friction and increase cylinder life.

Large-diameter pistons are both durable and lightweight. Yamaha exclusive "controlled forged construction" keeps the pistons light for faster response and higher speeds with reduced vibration and alternatives to accommodate much smaller. The pistons are coated to reduce friction Alumite.

Thickness of the cooling fins and depth is optimized for maximum heat dissipation, eliminating the need for liquid cooling, maintaining that traditional, elegant look air-cooled engine. Each radiator is specifically designed to create points of light that changes with the angle of light.

43mm, double bars, gas downdraft fuel injection body (FI) with the position of the accelerator gas sensor (TPS) ensures great throttle response and maximum power at all speeds. This system is a "closed loop" because it uses an oxygen sensor in the exhaust to control the concentration of oxygen and adjust the FI system if necessary. The advantages of injection include automatic starter, better fuel economy, instant response and reduced emissions.

12-hole 2-directional Mikuni fuel injectors produce a wide spray of the cylinder is completely filled. This, combined with a special spray head of the wings ensures complete combustion for maximum power. Idle Speed Control (ISC) has been adopted to ensure the stability of performance to a minimum.

High capacity electronic fuel pump is placed in the tank under the seat.

The state of the art Electronic Control Unit (ECU) provides fuel consumption measured with optimum accuracy and power control using 3D mapping for each cylinder.

3.5-liter dual inlet air without the airbox contains a single entry wound in the front and one in the rear for maximum efficiency of breathing. This project will not only improve the flow of air, but also reduces weight and allows a more open area of the steering column. A thick paper filter is used.

Air Intake System (AIS) injects fresh oxygen in the exhaust port to insure complete combustion thereby reducing harmful exhaust emissions (HC and CO), while a special cut valve reduces the deceleration or acceleration of against the coast.

High-performance 2-in-one-on-2 exhaust system features large diameter pipes at the top of peak flow. Dual three-way catalyizers honeycomb matrix to reduce emissions of harmful exhaust gases. The elegant dual muffler helps strengthen the torque and horsepower while producing a groove, V-twin growl. Heat shields protect the driver and passenger from hot components.

The exhaust system also features a lightweight titanium exhaust, power valve most often EXUP in high performance sport bikes. EXUP system not only provides crisp throttle response and eliminates "flat spot", but also improves acceleration, fuel consumption and harmful emissions as well.

Smooth-shifting 5-speed manual gearbox features optimized gear ratios so strong low rpm acceleration and relaxed highway cruising. 5. gear is gear overdrive reduces engine rpm at highway speeds for maximum comfort.

Robust clutch 10 is designed to integrate the motor. This switch performs a hydraulic master cylinder instead of cable. The hydraulic clutch design is low maintenance, self-regulation and stylish, too.

Low maintenance drive system belt not only reduces the maintenance, but also clean and quiet. A belt drive system uses less power than a shaft drive and reduces unsprung weight for great rear suspension performance. The belt is made with rope made of carbon fiber for incredible strength and durability.

Easy access to fast spin-type oil filter, oil change easy.

Chassis / Suspension

High tech, cast-aluminum double-cradle frame reduces weight and balance sheet strength and stiffness. The engine is rigid-mounted as part of a greater rigidity. The critical region of the construction manager pipe-shaped box features for added strength. It affects not only offers excellent handling characteristics but also compliments the beautiful flowing lines of the whole machine. The open area behind and below the steering column can strengthen this "chopper inspired" the image of fashion. The wiring is hidden in front of the steering column for a clean look.

Important Note: Raked-out front fork, which is usually a lot of trail offers a good straight line stability, but often leads to heavy control. Yamaha technicians do not sacrifice style of therapy, so they developed a 6 degree yoke angle offset, combined with 34 degrees of steering and the fork has a total of 40 degrees. Raider illuminates the "sporty handling and easy to control" is not commonly found in custom-style bike. This bike is designed to drive! The key numbers: 6 degree yoke offset at an angle, 34 ° caster angle, 102 mm path.

FC Lightweight die cast aluminum swingarm offers exceptional rigidity and ensures excellent stability and handling. CF molding process allows beautiful shapes that are both strong and lightweight. This swingarm is a fashion statement in aluminum and compliments the rest of the design Raider.

Rigid 46 mm Kayaba fork offers 130mm front (5.1 ") of wheel travel for handling very stable and good comfort. The inner fork tube is protected by guards chrome elegant chic.

Muscular, aluminum upper triple clamp and a computer designed to lower the crown angle of 6 degrees to the yoke of good quality, while maintaining a style inspired by the chopper.

Link rear suspension with preload-adjustable rear suspension management single product, tight and driving comfort. Kayaba shock is positioned horizontally under the engine with the addition of an important target for therapy. The shock is hidden to provide that classic look "hardtail". Rear wheel travel is 90mm (3.5 ").

Powerful dual 298mm floating front discs are squeezed by ultra rigid, monoblock 4-piston calipers provide sport-bike spec print out great leverage and feedback.

Beautiful custom 5-spoke aluminum 21 "front wheel gives a certain style to highlight. Width is 3.50 inches long and is equipped with a 120/70 profile tires. The rear wheel is also a custom inspired 5-spoke 18-inch cast aluminum mag design is 7.5 inches long. The wheel carries the widest rear tire ever installed on a motorcycle ... its a Yamaha 210 / 40 tires. the Both wheels are fitted with tubeless tires.

310mm disc at the back Grand is pressed by a single piston caliper mounted below the swingarm for a lower center of gravity and that customized "hidden look".

Two-piece seat is equipped with a deep gash in the drivers seat to give the driving position inspired by helicopter ... More than one session to another. The rear seat back support dual driver / to the driver.

60/55W headlights with a unique design, inspired by the custom can be adjusted up and down, left or right.

2011 Honda CBR 250R Review

Yesterday was our first opportunity to test the single-cylinder CBR250R on American soil. After the whipping on the road around the city and along some of the best twisty roads in the country - in the canyons above Malibu, California - which went very impressed but not surprised.

Living up to its forward-sheet have recently analyzed in our control tech-injected bike starts and heats evenly, without a stutter to a stop on a cold restart.

Shock of torque at 7,000 rpm and maximum power arrives at 8500 rpm soon. The CBR250R is offline Grunty, friendly and comfortable for passengers on short and medium size.

2011 Honda CBR 250R

Sitting on his 30.5-inch seat height, and a neutral position slightly rearset footpegs and small forward to get to the bar, windshield and fairing offer a typical road bike shelter. At 6 feet tall, and long legs, I could sit a little too easily for travel for passengers. And when I crouched down in cycling, long legs bent so that the former editor Gabe Motorcycle.com ETS-Hokin - who was along for the ride - said it seemed too big for the bike, seemed manageable, and if you start out, I would still be considered.

The bike accelerates acceptably fast speed of the road. After a peak of maximum power, especially in the fifth and sixth gears, the extra speed comes in silence. Specifically, a monitoring team riders can reach 185 pounds 65 years without any problems. Reaching 75 is a little more effort. And after that, the next 10 mph is considerably slower. Once in the 80s superior range, provided it takes to push past the speed indicated that the big 9-0, perhaps the bit 90 - Japan and the speedometers are optimistic of a small percentage.

2011 Honda CBR 250R

We give in detail, because many people want to know how to survive a two-cylinder Kawasaki Ninja 250R. We saw that the bike hit a reported 101 mph, and the stock in the form of Gabe tells me its been clocked at 93 mph or better true.

Redline 13000-Kawi is faster, but you have to shout. Honda 10500-Tours offers better targeting low-end without drama. Its that simple. Choose your preference, and remember, a good bike, not only measured by its speed.

As for handling, Honda Twisties inspires confidence at all speeds. Geometry balances stability and maneuverability. As the straps of Kawasaki is the lightest Honda non-adjustable fork and preload adjustable shock is relatively flexible, while providing a good balance between respect and control. When cashed more, it can be unsettling to suddenly cross the rough spots, but its true for many bikes.

2011 Honda CBR 250R

Our group is for experienced riders pushed a little lively, spirited, and during this stint, I found myself lifting off the seat to compensate for the budget-minded suspension inability to fully absorb the jab, right hook, and reduce the number of serial points, especially the hard floor. My knees, but without external changes also do not offer decent rebound and compression compliance. It a trick for those who knows the terrain ridden. If necessary, instead of braces sophisticated Do It Like they do in the dust.

Check the Honda CBR250R Forum.

The total stopping power CBR250R is acceptable. And if my seat-of-the-pants decelerometer are correct, I will evaluate the braking close to the Ninja 250R.

The new CBR250R a UPS Kawasaki Ninjette optional ABS.

Hondas Combined ABS (ABS-C) connects the rear brake caliper one of the main advantages of the three pistons, and if pushed beyond the limit, a linear decrease in cycle times up to the throbbing usually mild. ABS front brakes are the same, but to connect the front brake only when a strong chirping made not-so-soft tires IRC Road Winner.

2011 Honda CBR 250R

These rubber-S, while one of the ways Honda is still the low cost, however, do the job. We have supported in the dry and wet. When grown naturally, only the tires out early in the wet. No scary slippery, but even on dry pavement right person was willing to drag a knee.

The CBR250R runs quiet. This is obviously swallowed to meet Uncle Sam, and union leaders from the EPA. The parameters that the federal Conservatives extorted Honda ECU, along with the catalytic converter and exhaust pipe near the simple power of the sap.

I think its an engine that begs to be opened. If you are a member of the Sierra Club, and take note, without goals.

And if youre new, or simply on a budget, do not worry: The stock bike is fast enough for most uses. I want a good bike when I was a beginner.

Instrumentation is clear and achievable. Official EPA numbers are not yet available, but the neighborhood is 60 mpg. Fuel stops were necessary after several hours of driving lively and fuel gauges, press a bicycle reported a series of bars on the left. A full tank would reach 200 miles, more or less than estimated by Honda.

2011 Honda CBR 250R

CBR250R is a murderer Ninja 250R? No. Is it a real competition? You bet. The fuel injected CBR - but only as an individual, not a twin - is itself a value. And for some runners, ABS optional add enough value to Littlest CBR and justify the additional $ 500 is required beyond the $ 3999 MSRP. Honda CBR250R said will be available later this spring.

Overall fit and finish for both Red / Metallic Silver and Black was good on the bikes we went. There is a little Cubby with room for a couple of notables in the passenger seat passenger.

2011 Honda CBR 250R

We look forward to the full review as soon as Honda CBR250R gives us more time. At this point, we can say that you can not win an endurance contest with some other 250S, but it is a winner in its own right.

2011 Suzuki GSX1250FA Review

A new bike with sporting intentions, but absent from the revolutionary technology of a race or winning pedigree is easy to overlook. Enter GSX1250FA 2011, a semi-new Suzuki superlatives lack of publicity, but the essential qualities that make a competent bike, that is, performance and enjoyment at an affordable price.

The GSX1250FA Suzuki motorcycle rider demanding a place in a sport bike to the line of highly specialized or sport-touring heavy emphasis on the latter part of the title compound. In addition to its standard equipment anti-lock brakes, GSX1250FA is elemental in its construction and built to be mounted anywhere and at any time by a rider who appreciates the versatility of hyperbole.

Stripped of his nickname Bandit 400 Bandit used since the introduction of the United States in 1991, GSX1250FA also differs from its predecessor in terms of full-fairing cosmetics. Updates include less obvious heavier fork springs and rebound stronger, and radiator fan to compensate for the additional loss of air flow total body coverage.

Although the changes are minor, the new machine using the plastic profile to attract the interest of riders familiar with previous versions bare quarter fairing as well as those who have no knowledge of the nomenclature of the latest GSX. And when those who have already rejected the villain of the opportunity to test the GSX1250, they will be caught by the manners of the bike, universal performance.

The engine GSX1250FA is certainly one of the best qualities of the bike. With a maximum torque of V-Twin Towers (72.3 lb-ft at just 3500) GSX throw the corners with a robustness that belies its modest 92.6 hp at 8800 rpm Dyno figure. The abundance of low-end power increases the usability of the real world and ensures that you never left want, when you run a high ratio or who need emergency power passes. It should be noted that so pleasant and easy to use as a fuel-injected 1255cc inline-four is planning his trip, we were hoping at least one of the three-digit horsepower figures.

A striking attribute is its ability to handle 2011 Suzuki GSX1250FA, especially given its low-tech and tubular steel frame Dry weight 567 lbs. It is not Jenny Craig poster child, but the guns of the GSX manage your weight well and easily maintain the rear wheel faster, lighter bikes driven by pilots. Competing models like the new Yamaha FZ1 1000 Kawasaki Ninja and are lighter and better handling, but these bikes to play devils advocate, an operator GSX1250FA conducted with the joy of ignoring the problem of the weight of the bike .

As capable as the GSX is the cannon, which is the road miles as comfortable as a summary or neighborhood long distance road trips. The ergonomic design is comfortable, with plenty of places to rest your legs and feet for a wide superbike handlebar moderate. The suspension is well balanced on the side of a seat comfort while luxurious. Only in the canyons, brakes and becomes aggressive when the weight of the bike at times exceeds the suspension, but otherwise the bike fork 43 mm and rear shock are only made GSX.

The throttle response from Suzuki fuel injection system is flawless double butterfly, the correct delivery controlled application of energy to any diet, and a clutch offers a combat zone for the range of pitches without any problems. The triple-disc brakes provide a lever GSX very firm and comments to halt the decline GSX with confidence. Adjustable brake and clutch to suit a variety of hand sizes.

GSX is the ABS system is a component of cycling the most advanced technology, but if a crisis occurs, it is a system that works quietly in the background. I do not book the brakes a few times to confirm the existence of the system was more than just stickers on the front fender. The system sends a thrilling sensation familiar with the handle when activated, but stop the bike with authority. Equipped with ABS as standard, GSX1250FA differs in its class.

For those who love to travel, new full-filler, provides extra protection from the elements of the old brush-band finally different. However, style points are considered as most aftermarket motorcycle guards lower back ordered at the end of 1990 as the flagship model in 2011. Faced with the GSX-R derived from the lighthouse is stacked very much in vogue. Gusts to become a windshield hit 5-foot-11 frame around the middle of the chest clean, non-turbulent airflow. Suzuki also offers a tour geared more to the windscreen and 37-liter box at the top and tough, lockable and detachable saddlebags, which can turn into a sport-touring rig GSX great sport.

The headquarters of the GSX1250FA offers a height adjustment in two positions, changed from 31.7 to 32.5 inches, but changing the seat on the board to another level is more complicated process of adjusting the height of the seat I have ever met . You want to choose the most appropriate level and leave the seat in this position.

In addition to the child seat to the test, not the GSX has two great rarities of the future owners to comply. The first is a central support. Yes, add a little weight and may limit cornering clearance when the bike is loaded with passengers and crew, but this feature is essential for lubricating and adjusting a chain every time you are away from home.

Subtlety is a couple of other locks helmet under the seat. I do not know why manufacturers are making this just adding a modern bike a lot, but Im tired of having to wear a helmet in a restaurant that would be perfectly safe to connect to the bike. Thanks, Suzuki, use common sense and include this feature in the GSX1250FA.

The dashboard is clean and easy to read and includes a digital window at hand speedometer, another feature absent on similar models.

Accountant to $ 11,599 MSRP, GSX1250FA is inexpensive, especially when considering the ABS is included. If youre launching a new bike that the departure between the dedicated sport-tourer and sports GSX1250FA standards should find a list of considerations. Its biggest selling point is its engine, which produces an engine such as energy when and where needed, the use of easily exceeded our expectations.

So if you can swing a test at your local dealer, gives the GSX a chance. You will probably be as surprised as us.

JOHN BOYD DUNLOP

John Boyd Dunlop was a Scottish inventor. He was one of the founders of the rubber company that bore his name, Dunlop Pneumatic Tyre Company. He was born on a farm in Dreghorn, North Ayrshire, and studied to be a veterinary surgeon at the Dick Vet, University of Edinburgh, a profession he pursued for nearly ten years at home, moving to Downpatrick, Ireland, in 1867. He established Downe Veterinary Clinic in Downpatrick with his brother James Dunlop before moving to a practice in 38-42 May Street, Belfast. He was a good friend of Queen Victoria.
In 1887, he developed the first practical pneumatic or inflatable tyre for his sons tricycle, tested it in Cherryvale sports ground, South Belfast, and patented it on 7 December 1888.

Willie Hume demonstrated the supremacy of Dunlops newly invented pneumatic tyres in 1889, winning the tyres first ever races in Ireland and then England. The captain of the Belfast Cruisers Cycling Club, he became the first member of the public to purchase a bicycle fitted with pneumatic tyres, so Dunlop suggested he should use them in a race. On 18 May 1889 Hume won all four cycling events at the Queens College Sports in Belfast, and a short while later in Liverpool, won all but one of the cycling events.

Two years after he was granted the patent Dunlop was officially informed that it was invalid as Scottish inventor Robert William Thomson (1822–1873), had patented the idea in France in 1846 and in the US in 1847. Dunlops patent was later declared invalid on the basis of Thomsons prior art, see Tyres. Dunlop’s development of the pneumatic tyre arrived at a crucial time in the development of road transport. Commercial production began in late 1890 in Belfast. Dunlop assigned his patent to William Harvey Du Cros, in return for 1,500 shares in the resultant company and in the end did not make any great fortune by his invention. Dunlop died in Dublin, and is buried in Deans Grange Cemetery.

Honda CB400F

Honda destroyed the jewel-like CB350 Four after just one year of production and replaced it with this square-edged faux racer junkpile. The exhaust pipes set a new low in idiotic styling and the rest of it is so undescript that it barely even registers. Ride it for two hours and youll have holes in your legs where those saddle rivets are.
